Course Methodology
This course relies on individual and group exercises aimed at helping participants learn all the critical activities related to project management. The course also features several case studies and role-plays by participants, followed by discussions. Also, the course includes practice questions similar to the CAPM® exam style. In addition, this course incorporates pre- and post-testing.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Define what a “project” is and understand the fundamental concepts, terminology, and processes of project management
- Apply project management principles across predictive, agile, and hybrid environments
- Describe how project governance, compliance, and change management function within a project environment
- Identify and analyze stakeholder needs, plan stakeholder engagement strategies, and design communication approaches for effective stakeholder management
- Explain how to form and manage a project team, including team roles, responsibilities, conflict resolution, motivation, and performance measurement
- Compare and contrast predictive, adaptive (agile), and hybrid project life cycles, and articulate when each is appropriate
- Develop integrated project plans covering scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, risk, procurement, and stakeholder engagement
- Monitor, control, and adjust project performance; manage changes; and apply corrective/preventive actions
- Demonstrate readiness to sit for the PMI® CAPM® certification exam
